The Cancellations Tour Log - Day 3

Day 3 was our only day off on this run and we decided to visit Savannah, GA as it was close to our next gig in Charleston.

First we headed back to Huntsville to get my pedalboard and then we headed on a beautiful drive through the hills into Georgia from there. Everyone (especially Dan) enjoyed the beautiful views and said the extra drive time was worth it for a prettier route regardless of how much shit I keep getting for leaving my gear behind. I drove the first leg and it was sort of fun to drive with a trailer for the first time in a while. Oh and there was a major band fart party the whole way too…

The drive was about 7 hours total, plus we lost an hour so we got to Savannah a little after 10pm and were all ready to get out and about after that long drive, so we started partying immediately after getting to the hotel.
First we headed to a fun Irish pub where we got several drinks and Dan slammed Guinness. They played a ton of 00’s emo and Joe knew every single song, it was rather impressive. We partied for a bit there and then I wanted to wander downtown so we headed to another bar.

Another 10 min walk and we ended up in bar central. We considered one and I said nah, so we went a couple spots down and found a small club playing reggaeton dance music and we had a blast dancing our asses off. Ellie made friends with the bartender over Malort and we got all of our drinks for free. We stayed out until bar close and then wandered our way back to the hotel through the gorgeous trees and old architecture of Savannah.

Once we got back we chilled and played some music together. The band all goofed around setting up the air mattress and it was hilarious to watch as I plucked a guitar on the couch. Dan and I got to share a pull out couch that felt like sleeping on springs. We were in bed by about 4AM and not much sleep was had. Wish my sleepy ass good luck…

All in all we had sooo much fun partying and spirits remain high.
